Manage WordPress

Centralized management for all WordPress installations on your account. Available from the client panel sidebar under Manage WordPress.

Overview

URL: /client/wordpress-installations

Lists every WordPress installation created via Install WordPress. When the list is empty you'll see "No wordpress installations".

Per-installation actions

Each installation row shows its Domain and Path, with these actions:

• Visit - opens the WordPress site in a new tab.
• Go to Admin - opens the WordPress admin in a new tab, signed in through single sign-on, so you do not type the WordPress password. See Go to Admin.
• Manage - opens WordPress Management for that installation, where you manage plugins, themes, posts, and core.
• Uninstall - removes WordPress and, unless another installation may use it, its database, after you confirm. Other files in the installation folder are kept. See Uninstall.

Go to Admin

Since panel 1.9.2 Go to Admin signs you in to WordPress as an administrator of the site through single sign-on, on this list and on the WordPress Management page alike. It also works while an administrator or reseller is viewing your account through impersonation.

The new tab opens as soon as you click, and fills in once the sign-in link is ready; the first single sign-on of a site may take up to a minute. If no sign-in link can be made, the tab opens the site's /wp-admin login page instead, where you sign in with a WordPress administrator account. When the panel can name the cause, a notification titled Open WordPress admin says why single sign-on did not work and what to correct. Since panel 1.9.4, single sign-on also works when the site's PHP prints a startup or plugin warning, and the notification names the cause when WordPress gives no sign-in link. Uninstall

Uninstall opens the Uninstall WordPress confirmation dialog. Since panel 1.9.3 the dialog names the installation folder and the database named in the installation's wp-config.php, and lists what is removed and what is kept:

• Removed: the wp-admin, wp-includes, and wp-content folders (themes, plugins, and uploads), the WordPress core files, and wp-config.php.
• Removed unless shared: the database. If another WordPress installation on your account may use it, the database and its user are kept.
• Kept: all other files and folders in the installation folder, and .htaccess.

Click Yes, uninstall to continue. The action cannot be undone. A notification titled Uninstall WordPress then reports the result:

• On success it confirms that the WordPress files and the database are gone and that the other files in the folder were kept.
• If the database was kept, a warning names it. Check whether another site still uses that database; if none does, delete the database and its user on the Databases page.
• If a database step fails, WordPress is not uninstalled and its files are kept. The notification names what remains; correct the reported problem, then run Uninstall again.

Internationalization

The management UI is fully localized - strings are translated to the panel's interface language.
